newest item is a replacement heater hose kit for the
existing upper and lower heater hoses. When GM
originally designed this heater hose connection it was
designed with plastic parts that with heat and time will
fail. Oddly enough the dealership does not sell these
connectors, instead they offer a metal replacement that
does not function well.
Here are the
part numbers below for both metal fittings that we manufacture
to replace the existing plastic parts:

When using the
metal fittings from the dealer the fittings point the wrong
direction from the firewall as seen in the photo below. So now
you have all this extra rubber hose wrapping all around engine,
going to the front then to the back. You have to make a huge
loop with your hose so it doesn't kink.
They will charge
you up to $70 for the two metal replacement connectors and $170
for the original hose assembly. Not only that, but they
currently don't carry them on the shelf. You have to place
an order and it can take up to 2 weeks for the parts to come in
while your vehicle is stranded.
